From there, the player takes refuge in the Roman army, where the game begins in earnest. The player must rise through the ranks and increase their military prowess on their path to shaping the future of Rome.

Explore the world with the army

The game world is realized in a great deal of detail thanks to some impressive graphics, and the player will get to see plenty of it during the course of the 3 campaigns they will fight in. Greece, North Africa, and Gaul are all part of the game. The player will also have to recruit legionaries.

A good-looking game with some gameplay flaws

The visuals on offer in Expeditions: Rome are impressive, and the world is realized in surprising detail for a game that is essentially a top-down game. Still, there are some issues with the gameplay itself, such as limited gameplay mechanics, leading to the game feeling repetitive and poor balancing of soldier classes.
